OHIO CASES OF H1N1 VIRUS

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is working with local partners to identify cases of H1N1 virus (swine flu).  The latest case updates are available on the ODH H1N1 virus information site.

This Web site has been updated to provide planning materials, Ohioans can do their part by making good respiratory etiquette and hygiene habits a part of their daily routine.

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and then throw the tissue away.

  • If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or upper sleeve.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze or use the restroom and before eating. If you are not near soap and water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  • Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth as germs often spread this way.

  • Stay away from people who are sick.

  • If you get sick, stay home from work or school.
If you think you may be sick follow these guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

FREE MATERIALS AVAILABLE

We are offering a respiratory etiquette lesson plan geared toward K - 5 grade. The kit has age-appropriate activities along with some hand washing posters and sticker activity.

Click here to view the updated order form. At this time we are out of pocket-size plans, hand washing clings and the hand washing poster for children. Visit the publication library for versions that can be dowloaded.
